Themed activities, such as a Halloween run, are a way for participants to get into the spirit of the event.

Tallahassee Community College’s Student Leadership Involvement and Civic Engagement Office hosted a zombie run on October 31, to collect donations for the TCC Food Pantry.

The event started and ended at the Intramural Field outside the SLICE Office in the Student Union.Students were able to participate by donating two can goods, a can opener and water meals.

“This event is to bring in cans for the food pantry while being chased by zombies,” Event Organizer Haley Hall said.

Runners start the course at the Intermural Field in a light jog. Participants had to keep an eye out for zombies who were trying to take their flags.

Participants could either be a runner or a zombie. Runners wore flags and ran a designated course trying to stay away from students dressed as zombies. Zombies hid throughout the course and chased the runners in an attempt to get their flag. Those who still had their flag at the finish line received a shirt from the SLICE Office.

Participants who were zombies helped one another get ready with zombie makeup in the SLICE office before the run started.

Students were able to enjoy a fun Halloween activity and donate to a good cause at the same time.

Students dressed in zombie makeup get creative with designs, such as the ones pictured above and below. The makeup helped to differentiate between zombies and runners.
