Smith added that this year marks the choir’s 30th Anniversary. The opening concert will be conducted by special guest Dr. Anton Armstrong, the Director of the world-renowned St. Olaf Choir. He will take the podium and conduct the “Five Mystical Songs.”
Every year the Tallahassee Community Chorus have a variety of soloist who play at the event. This year the chorus will be having Feryal Quodourah, she is a lyric-coloratura soprano and Sam Carlton, who is also a member of the Chorus.
Each year, they partner up with other non-profit groups for each of their concerts in order to help the other group have the chance to inform our patrons about their mission they have.
“We partner each concert with another local nonprofit organization to give our patrons a means of learning about other community organizations. Elder Care Services will be our community partner for the Fall concert and we will be collecting donations of nonperishable food items to help restock their emergency pantry,” said Smith.
