Ashish’s rainbow dress plays with color and texture.

It’s one of the biggest fashion events of the season and it only comes around twice a year. Showcasing the latest fashion trends for the upcoming season, London Fashion Week is in full swing this week as

250 designers roll out their creations to an audience of influential media and retailers. The Talon

chose four of these remarkable and sometimes bizarre outfits to include in a Would You Rather gamethis week with TCC students.

The first two options were Ashish’s rainbow dress and Burberry’s rainbow coat modeled by Cara Delevingne.

Burberry’s rainbow coat features a plaid lining.

TCC student Kate Sanders said she would prefer to wear Burberry’s coat to classes.

“That’s comfy,” Sanders said.

Another TCC student Jasmine Waiters said she would rather go to class wearing Ashish’s dress.

“That’s pretty,” Waiters said.

The second two options were a geometric cage outfit from the Jack Irving show and Emilia Wickstead’s red and white stripe outfit.

Paige Gibson, a TCC student, said she preferred the Emilia Wickstead outfit.

“Doesn’t show as much I guess,” Gibson said.

She said she did not like the Jack Irving outfit.

“I probably wouldn’t wear that in public,” Gibson said.

Waiters said she would also prefer the Emilia Wickstead outfit but she did not completely discount the Jack Irving outfit.                                                                                                                   Jack Irving presents an otherworldly outfit.

“Like this one is cool too because like it’s-it’s like more of a go-big-or-go-home type thing but I’m more on the reserved side so that’s why I would go with (that) one,” Waiters said.

Here are a few ways to interpret London Fashion Week’s trends and incorporate them into everyday outfits.

This green and white stripe coat pairs well with other white pieces.

Follow the trend of colorful stripes as seen in Emilia Wickstead’s outfit with this striking vintage green coat.

Or opt for traditional French black and white stripes but wear the pattern on tights instead of on a shirt. Pair with red Converse for a modern update on a classic color combination.

This classic color combination also brings to mind the witch’s feet in “Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz.”

Subdued rainbow leg warmers are easier to match with other pieces.

If a full rainbow outfit like Ashish’s rainbow dress feels too intimidating try these muted rainbow leg warmers instead, or combine stripes and color with these red striped socks.

This white 3D printed pendant is casual but can be combined with more formal pieces too.

Add geometric and organic patterns, like those in Jack Irving’s outfit, to everyday attire with 3D printed jewelry. Go for neutral colors like white or silver to pair with anything.

A 3D printed ring in silver is contemporary and classy.
