The Tallahassee Community College student union was the site of both the breast cancer awareness event and the career fair on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018. Pink streamers lined the walls and the music echoed throughout the halls. Students enjoyed cotton candy, popcorn, and pins and stickers while they received information about breast cancer.

Both the breast cancer awareness event and the career fair looked to be creating a steady inflow of student activity.

Both of these events were crowded with students surrounding and participating in large dance circle that had formed in the middle of the union, with the audience cheering louder than the music.

The dance circle took place in front of the breast cancer awareness booth. Upon first glance, it appeared to be a part of the breast cancer event booth. However, after a quick conversation with a few of the members of this booth it became clear that this dance circle was an unplanned and separate entity that just so happened to occur during the two scheduled events.

While for some this was simply a roadblock between their walk to class. For others it generated a hype that was good for both of the scheduled events in the union. Each time the sliding doors opened, the bass rung throughout the campus and more students felt inclined to check out the source of the ruckus.

Without this well-timed dance circle, it would be fair to say neither event would have generated the same student traffic.

You can never know for sure what you just might see in the TCC Student Union.
