The Catholic Student Union at Florida State University will hold its Women’s Retreat on November 16-17 at Camp Crosspoint just north of Tallahassee.

Director Jenna Calderaio said the major themes discussed will include confidence in Christ’s love. There will also be a large focus on sisterhood. Although the directors are still finalizing the details, the weekend will be filled with adoration, campfires and honest conversation.

“Over the course of the two days, we’ll let go and let God,” said Calderaio. “We are looking for young women who are open to developing their faith and growing in sisterhood.”

Calderaio is a junior at FSU majoring in entrepreneurship. She has attended several retreats and encourages other women to mark their calendars for this year’s retreat.

Calderaio said the retreat is open to any female college student in the Tallahassee area. Women do not have to be Catholic in order to attend. The event often inspires attendees to deepen their faith or perhaps begin their journey in faith.

Last year, the retreat focused on living with simplicity. Attendees left feeling empowered to thrive when they get back to campus. Calderaio said she is expecting the same success this year.

Camp Crosspoint is known for its easy access to nature, team building exercises and escaping the busyness.

Abby Hutteman, the event’s co-director, said the Women’s Retreat allows her to connect with women who are positive influences in her life.

“It’s a chance for me to get out of Tallahassee and spend time with great people,” Hutteman said. “Being a part of this women’s group allows me to surround myself with people who continually push me to grow and become my best self.”

The weekend will include prayer groups and inspiring discussion meant to lead young women to find God’s calling for their life. Calderaio said upon returning back to their normal lives, attendees can join women’s group which meets Thursday nights.
