The coronavirus pandemic has affected millions of people across the globe, including college students. Schools and colleges have shifted classes online for the rest of the semester, graduation and other school activities have been cancelled and students’ academic plans have been affected. Many Tallahassee Community College students returned home, some students stayed in town, but all of them are doing their best to fulfill their academic requirements to finish out the semester despite the societal upheaval.

Being quarantined has put me in a place that I never want to be in again. The coronavirus has affected my life and everyone else’s in a dramatic way.
All around the world, people are being advised to stay at home and have social-distancing to avoid the spread of this disease. More and more people are being tested positive from this deadly virus. It is a time in our history that people need to come together to fight this from spreading.
Thankfully, I don’t know anyone personally that has tested positive for the coronavirus. Unfortunately, I do know a few people that have been out of work, and even lost their jobs since places like schools and other public places have been shut down until further notice.
As a student, this pandemic has affected my Spring Break as well as canceled cruises, flights and other plans that my peers and I had planned.
With classes being online now, I have moved back home to my parents’ house in Tampa. It has caused some problems for me because it is difficult to learn the content in my classes and it is harder to communicate with my professors.
The TCC shutdown also has affected my plans on earning my AA degree. I still have classes to take in order to earn the degree, but I don’t know which ones I need to take. It’s hard not going to a counselor and asking for help because of the shutdown.
