The coronavirus pandemic has affected millions of people across the globe, including college students. Schools and colleges have shifted classes online for the rest of the semester, graduation and other school activities have been cancelled and students’ academic plans have been affected. Many Tallahassee Community College students returned home, some students stayed in town, but all of them are doing their best to fulfill their academic requirements to finish out the semester despite the societal upheaval.

In a town such as Tallahassee, there are always a lot of things to do no matter where you go – clubs, bars and the mall. Before I was thinking about leaving Tallahassee to go back home for Spring Break, I went to four different stores looking for my toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer and other items, which they did not have in stock.

When I moved back home to Palm Beach County, it felt a lot better for me. Even though the beaches are closed, it is still fun to participate in activities with loved ones until this coronavirus crisis is over.

Also, my mother is very creative. She made her own cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer with alcohol and aloe.

I must say I do miss my friends in Tallahassee, but I definitely do not want to be gathering with people at this time. Also, my mom’s house has a pool with a diving board and we swim and do fun things like jump off the roof into the pool.

Overall, It is better to be home with the people who you love and care for instead of being out and about.
