Mass Shootings is a very sensitive topic today in America. These acts of pure evil are happening all over in malls, movie theaters, corporations, and schools.

Coming from one of the worst mass shootings in the country at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, I know first-hand the scares that come from almost losing our life at school. It is something I wouldn’t want anyone to go through. It takes a toll on your mental stability, your emotions and your physical activity. It drains you of all of it.

I would like nothing more than for the country to be clear of all these tragedies. These shootings are happening due to the failure to conduct proper background checks and age limits on guns.

The gunman that took 17 lives two years ago was not mentally stable to be allowed to purchase an automatic rifle. He had 50-plus police reports for aggravated assault, and more.

Persons with even one aggravated assault charge should not be able to buy a weapon. If they are able to hurt people without a gun, imagine what they would do with one.

The United States government must figure out a way to end these tragedies without taking away the Second Amendment. I am not part of the March for our Lives, and I will never advocate to take away one’s right to bear arms.

I will fight and share my story to find a way to get rid of these issues in America, but in a way that is not to draw attention to me and take advantage of the school or the victims and their families.
