Second-year TCC student Rhiannon Castillo is from Tallahassee, Fla.  She plans to major in Communications.

“These two submissions come from a long-term project of mine,” Castillo said. “It’s essentially a sketchbook portfolio. Every page is an exploration of my capabilities and practice of techniques.”

Night Time

“The inspiration for this piece comes from these fancy new ink pens that I bought from Hobby Lobby (which is actually inspiration for a lot of the art that I do). It portrays a whimsical looking tree in a nighttime setting. My favorite aspect of this drawing is the little one-eyed owl poking out of the top left.”

Magnamity

“I’m not too sure how the tiger resembles charity. I just wanted to include one of my favorite words as a cool title for this watercolor tiger. My boyfriend asked me to draw him a tiger and I felt that I wanted to do a Japanese traditional style for this particular request. The watercolor was one of the most enjoyable aspects of creating this.”
