Tatiyonna “TeeTee” Pate has always wanted to manage a business. Since the age of 16, music has always seemed to spark her interest. Pate, who is a first-year Tallahassee Community College student from Lake City, Florida, is planning on pursuing a degree in music management from Florida A&M University.

Pate dreams one day of professionally managing a music celebrity or someone prestigious. Some of her earliest influences were her brother and his friends.

Pate said watching her older brother T-Ray was inspirational because of his dedication to his passion – music. T-Ray’s goal was to create a family business that helped each member with musical aspirations to develop and promote their identity.
Pate took her brother’s ambition and brought his idea to life. She founded Family That Matters Management (FTM.Management) with her brother T-Ray and sibblings LahhGabex, Pato and Osama.

“Once my younger siblings took to the craft, I realized they (needed) a manager of some sort,” Pate said.

Understanding that every artist needs someone to spearhead their endeavor, Pate developed a passion for helping artists break through. In the process, she realized how much she enjoys being behind the scenes.

Pate has arranged open mic shows and photoshoots for her artists. That’s when her love for music management began to heighten.

In addition to her family members, she is hoping to find other aspiring artists who are interested in a career in the music industry. Pate intends to jumpstart their career by booking shows, publications, and interviews. Additionally, she intends to arrange studio sessions and photo shoots to further elevate their popularity and, hopefully, help propel them to stardom.
