Tallahassee Community College’s Student Life office held a festival to welcome the Fall season on Nov. 1 on the north lawn outside the Student Union. The event had a Mardi Gras theme and free New Orleans Cuisine, ice cream, and activities were provided for attendees. Several school organizations set up stands to provide students with information as well as complimentary snacks and novelties.

Tallahassee Community College Student Resource Coordinator Kayla Dover provides students with information about Talon’s Market, TCC’s complimentary marketplace on campus that supplies food to students who are experiencing food insecurity. Each student was allowed to choose one protein, veggie, fruit, starch, and breakfast item to take home.
Tallahassee Community College volunteers, Jamie Johns and Ryan Wright, encourage students to take advantage of TCC’s on-campus library as well as online resources. They had a prize wheel with the chance to win novelties like notebooks, pencils, keychains, and other useful items.
(left to right) Tallahassee Community College’s Student Government Association members Bella Rios, Ken Brown, Zachary Meeks and Zaria Meeks promote upcoming meetings and opportunities for students to get involved in school activities. The four students are passionate about their roles at Tallahassee Community College and always had a smile when speaking with fellow students.
Students wait in line for a free New Orleans style meal including fried chicken, crawfish, cornbread, rice, and beignets. When entering the festival, students checked in and received a stamp card. Visiting different tables around the lawn earned students stamps that could then be used as a ticket for a free meal. Tables were set up in the area so students could sit down and enjoy the food with friends.
In partnership with Vato’s Tacos, Tallahassee Community College sophomore, Kanesha Roundtree, hands out free ice cream and sprinkles to students.
Noah Royak of the “Nerdy Noah Show” entertains students at the festival. He and his partner walked around the festival in colorful, eccentric costumes while wearing stilts and juggling.
