This edition of TCCTalon Tunes features TCC Professor Robert Fleischmann. Originally from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Fleischmann has been teaching Music and Humanities at Tallahassee Community College for 15 years. He attended the University of New Hampshire as well as Florida State University, where he studied music performance and music history.
This playlist, compiled by Professor Fleischmann, contains music he’s discovered throughout significant periods of his life. His choices include a variety of music he enjoys on his own as well as many songs he’s found to be useful in his classroom.
“Some choices come from my personal experience playing oboe and English horn in modern orchestras as well as Baroque music on replica period instruments,” Fleischmann said.
Although he loves classical music, Professor Fleischmann has expressed admiration for all styles of music including electronic music like 1980s Synth Pop and New Wave music.
“The 1990s examples are there to help you witness a newer trend; to merge organic and synthetic musical feeling together,” he said.
Professor Flesichmann has chosen a variety of pieces and songs that showcase his unique perspective and his expertise in the field of music.
